When making decisions about hurricane safety, people often rely on weather models that can be easily misunderstood. This lesson uses representations of the “cone of uncertainty” and “spaghetti model” to elicit misunderstandings and help students better visualize hurricane impacts. 6-8, 9-12, 6-12
