Project Learning Tree ® (PLT) is an award winning, multi-disciplinary environmental education program for educators and students in PreK-12. The curriculum materials provide the tools educators (formal and nonformal) need to bring the environment into the classroom and their students into the environment. Through engaging hands-on activities, PLT helps students learn how to think, not what to think, about the natural and built environments around us.

In North Carolina, the PLT State Coordinator is Renee Strnad (she-they). The PLT Program is based at NC State University in the College of Natural Resources Forestry Extension program. The NC PLT program is also supported by the NC Forestry Association and the NC Forest Service.
